HISTORY
HOW SHE STARTED

At just nine years old, Valeri’s life was forever altered when her father was murdered, leaving her mother—pregnant at the time—to raise two children alone while working multiple jobs to survive. Witnessing that resilience shaped Valeri’s deep empathy, her intolerance for injustice, and her lifelong refusal to give up on people when they are at their most vulnerable. Inspired by her mother’s strength, Valeri began working at age 15, often holding two or three jobs at a time, and spent 11 years earning her college degrees while supporting herself. She became the first college graduate in her family, earning her undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.

At Texas Tech, Valeri’s talent quickly set her apart. She earned early admission to the prestigious Board of Barristers, ranked first in her class, and excelled as a national trial advocacy competitor—early proof of the courtroom command and work ethic that would define her career.

Valeri is licensed in Texas and Oklahoma state and federal courts, with pro hac vice admissions across the country, from California to New York. Early in her career, she secured multi-million-dollar recoveries for families devastated by catastrophic explosions.

Today, her practice focuses on serious injury and wrongful death cases, including:

Before co-founding Malone Injury Lawyers, major Texas personal injury firms recruited Valeri to run their branch offices in Wichita Falls, Lubbock, and Midland–Odessa—markets known for complex trucking, oilfield, and high-exposure litigation. She was trusted to build teams, oversee litigation strategy, try cases, and maximize results, responsibilities reserved for lawyers with exceptional judgment and credibility.

Today, Valeri practices side by side with her husband, Matt Malone, as co-founders of Malone Injury Lawyers in Lubbock, Texas. Their husband-and-wife partnership resonates deeply with clients, who value the trust, stability, and personal commitment that come from knowing their lawyers are fully invested—in the case and in each other.

Valeri is consistently recognized by her peers and clients, earning honors such as Texas Super Lawyer (Rising Star 2007–2009; Super Lawyer 2024–2025) and membership in the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocate Forums. But the recognition she values most comes from the people she represents.

As one client shared:

“Valeri didn’t just fight for us—she became our family, turning our nightmare into justice with compassion and unbreakable grit.”

Another wrote:

“From day one, she listened like no one else, then delivered results that changed our lives.”

Valeri lives by a simple truth, captured in Babe Ruth’s words:

“It is hard to beat someone who never gives up.”

That belief fuels her relentless pursuit of justice—whether negotiating against powerful insurance companies or standing before a jury. With millions recovered in verdicts and settlements, Valeri Malone’s reputation reflects a lifetime of hard work, empathy, and an unbreakable spirit forged through adversity.

She is not just a lawyer. She is the advocate people want when everything is on the line.
